Overview of ASHRAE 189.1-2014 Standard for the design of high-performance green buildings

Presents its overall profile, major contents including site, water, energy, indoor environment, material and management, and HVAC related provisions. By the comparison between Chinese green building standard GB/T 50378—2014 and ASHRAE 189.1, finds that both standards have similar concept of green, fairly comparable technical level, and some unique features. Automatic control in service systems, source control of indoor pollutants, annual production by renewable energy, and CO₂ sensor positioned in ventilation system, are of valuable references for compiling Chinese standard.
